Brian Mitchell

A graduate of Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, Brian Mitchell has been practicing since 1996. He got his start for the City Attorney’s Office in San Diego, focusing on Criminal Law in the Alternative Dispute Resolution Division, and serving an internship with the Public Defender’s Office. A San Diego resident since 1972, Mr. Mitchell was admitted to the California State Bar and Federal District Court in 1996. Shortly thereafter, he began practicing Civil Litigation as an associate for a San Diego firm which specializes in Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury. There, he gained valuable experience litigating cases before the San Diego Superior Court and Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board.

Mr. Mitchell went into private practice in 1999, focusing on Personal Injury and employment-related law. In 2003, Mr. Mitchell became a certified specialist in Workers’ Compensation and the following year was appointed by his colleagues to serve as San Diego Chapter President of the California Applicant Attorneys Association (CAAA). In 2006, Mr. Mitchell was appointed to a lifetime post on the CAAA Board of Governors.

An alumnus of the University of Arizona, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a minor in Spanish, Mr. Mitchell has negotiated and won thousands of favorable settlements on behalf of injured workers and individuals in San Diego County and throughout California. He has participated in panel discussions, has lectured on a wide range of legal, work-related legal topics, and has trained numerous legal professionals on representing Workers’ Compensation claimants and interacting with insurance providers.

Mr. Mitchell, who is fluent in Spanish, takes great pride in the communities in which he lives and works, and aggressively advocates for the rights of individuals and employees in those communities.
